The Careers "Shoghl'haa" Unit was brought to life by having children dress up as the different careers and by playing pretend using the "vasaayelhaa" (equipment) and tools that go with the different careers. There are some really cute dress-up pictures on our Facebook page. Our "Vasaayelhaa" file below is how we stay organized at school (the cards go in our dress up bins) but can be good review at home for learning the equipment that goes with each career.
Our first week was learning about "aateesh neshaan haa" (fire fighters). The kids loved the "Aateesh Neshaan" song under the Careers songs file below. That knee bouncer song is our translation of "Hurry Hurry Hurry Firetruck" and definitely gets kids and their parents moving!
Another hit was the "postchee" (mail carrier) week where the kids learned about letters and the mail. There is no better way of learning about mail than creating your own letters as the kids did this quarter.
We translated a Curious George book to Persian entitled "Neighborhood Friends" as well as the funny book about how animals brush their teeth entitled "Brush Your Teeth Please". The text of both translations are free to download at our Bookstore.
As in every unit, a complete set of the flashcards are available to download below as well as our Careers Trivia Book.
