Springtime is a great season to learn about birds! We start spring quarter learning about objects in the sky and this leads perfectly into the second unit of the quarter, birds. There are many Persian songs about birds. Check out these songs from Nasser Nazar's World of Joy CD on iTunes: ”Zaaghee Kojaa-ee” (Song #1) & “Jeek-o Jeek” (Song #6). "Gonjeshk" (sparrow) is one of our featured birds so we have attached a handout below.
Our Birds Trivia book highlights the different habitats that various birds live in as well as teaches the children interesting facts about birds. Do you know that the largest bird in the world is the "shotor morgh" (ostrich) and can be between 6-9 feet high?
